I want everyone to say sorry to the Dice Calculator.

X-Wing Dice Calculator Greetings from Recon Specialist TV.  Once again my ear drums are filled with the cries of people griping about their dice.  With the recent expansion of virtual X-Wing it seems there are complaints about digital dice and the Dice Calculator from Tabletop Simulator's, X-Wing Unified mod.  Which, to be honest, causes me to chuckle.  So I dusted off my recon files of ole and plan to talk about your dice.  So if you want comfort in knowing your dice are fine,  Read on.  No one is here is going to take your natties.  If you dislike facts and want to keep living in the land of denial then I would suggest you stop reading.  You have been warned. Before we get started, I want to make it crystal clear.  I do not blame, dislike, or want my words to reach the developers in a negative way.  I love the Dice Calculator.  It tells me information I need to know from the match and I use it to make myself a better player....

Game:  Crisis Protocol Mission: Players: 2 Threat Level: 17 Avengers! Captain America, Hulk, Ironman, Ultron Tactics:  Age of Ultron, Sacrifice, Drop off, Ricochet Blast, Avengers Assemble Defenders:  Dr. Strange, Wong, Spiderman(Miles), Hawk Eye, Wolverine Tactics:  Advanced R&D, Field Dressing, Med Pack, Seven Suns of Cinnibus, X-Ceptional Healing Factor So let me start by saying this was a friendly match, it was a ton of fun, and it went to the final blows.  So before the comments fly about Drop off being banned, we know.  After seeing it in action, we understand why it is banned.  With that said, lets get under way. Turn 1:  (Avengers have first turn)  I setup in the middle of the table as the three objects were setup in the middle of the table across the center line.  Josef setup in the North West Corner with all of his characters.  I move Ultron to right side objective and tried to identify the objective as almost a...

Game:  X-Wing Epic Play Mission:  Fog of War Players: 4 Link to match:    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvrnevIDnjk&feature=youtu.be After playing through our first Epic Battle we ran into several questions, concerns, but had a perfect X-Wing experience.  Today we review the Fog of War scenario from the Epic Battles: Rules and Scenarios book by Fantasy Flight Games. Over all review:  Enjoyable and a great way to experience a massive space battle with your friends.  Ships will die fast, new tactics and upgrades will be used, and it will give you a new outlook on how to play with your X-Wing Miniature ships.  There are issues with setup, reserves, and how hard it is to find rules.  However, If you work through it and come to an agreement when one isn't provided, you will have more fun in the end. Setting up:  This specific scenario only allows a quick build option when creating your forces.  For the intent of completing the obje...

X-Wing Miniatures Solo 2.0 RE-view

So, I recently play tested V 2.0 of the Solo campaign created by FFG.   With the latest version update they listed multiple changes. -Attitude changes from round to round -Maneuvers have been changed for certain dice results -Changes in the order of the Ai’s choice of actions -Tally markers, Attitude markers and additional attitude options Results of the flight: To start, I played a simple Quick Build ship against the AI. I played the Solo introductory scenario twice with one ship and once with two players.   One of the quick builds was Thane with Stealth device and outmaneuver, another with a T-65 and with a proton torpedoes and Thane, and the last was T-65 with no upgrades, each time changing up the patrol ships\reinforcements.   Turns times were 9-12, I never lost any of the scenarios and I never was shot at more than twice a turn. Navigating the Mechanics: FFG has made some serious changes to how the AI chooses its maneuver and actions.   Its atti...
